Leo N. Shaver, Jr., 85, of Horseshoe Bay died February 23, 2010. Born December 25, 1924 in Salisbury, NC, Leo was the son of Leo & Pearl (Stroupe) Shaver. Leo graduated from high school in Rockwell, NC in 1941, attended Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, NC and graduated from Benjamin Franklin University in Washington, DC in 1948.

Celebration of life services for Edwin Curtis Finley, 82, of Horseshoe Bay and formerly of Lubbock will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 15, at the Abbey Chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, with Dr. Ken Horn officiating. Ed was born Nov. 6, 1927 in Pecos to the late Edwin Odis and Lillian Finley.

Pierre Miller Dossman, Sr., 90, of Horseshoe Bay passed away peacefully in the early hours Sunday, December 27, 2009. He was born on April 27, 1919 in Ville Platte, Louisiana to Joseph & Hyasinth (Vidrine) Dossman. Pierre enlisted in the military in 1942 and was a member of the Normandy Invasion Task Force in WWII where he received a Purple Heart.

Ralph Lewis Young, 94, of Horseshoe Bay, passed away November 29, 2009. He was born to Lewis and Mable (McGuinn) Young on September 10, 1915 in Salt Fork, Oklahoma. Mr. Young began his working life at the age of 10 as a butcher apprentice. Meat cutting was a valuable skill that he used throughout his life, helping relatives and friends selecting and cutting meat.

James Michael “MIKE” Jeffers, 53 years died at his home in Buchanan Dam following a long 2 year battle with cancer on October 4, 2009. Mike was born on September 26, 1956 son of James and Frances Powell Jeffers in Austin, Texas. He served in the U.S. Marines prior to working as a self employed carpenter.

Karen Janice Jackson died on September 20, 2009 at the Northwood Healthcare Center in Marble Falls, Texas at the age of 62 years. A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, she was a daughter of Maurice and Inez Kennedy Bergen. Karen has resided in Marble Falls and San Antonio, Texas for many years.
