If you weren’t one of the lucky ones attending Tuesday’s Spring Fling Fashion Show featuring clothes from the Marble Falls Library Thrift Store, gird yourself because you will be hearing tales of that whacky, wonderful escapade for months to come. Event Chair, Sara Teague, may not be able to boil water, but she sure knows how to cook up a full course serving of merriment for a packed house to benefit the Friends of the Marble Falls Library.

David Culp of Horseshoe Bay sailed with David and Alison Luckenbach for a first place finish at the Bridge Too Far race on Stillhouse Hollow Lake. The annual Bridge Too Far race is a 20 mile race from the dam to the bridge and back, held by the Stillhouse Sailing Club.Temperatures in the 50’s were a bit cool, but nice wind made for a good race.

The Horseshoe Bay Property Owners’ Association held its 35th annual members meeting on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Quail Point Lodge.  Approximately 100 members were in attendance. The City of Horseshoe Bay’s 2008 taxes collected as of Feb. 28 total $4,488,806 at a collection rate of 89%, as compared to a 94% collection rate last February. The Administration Department Report presented to the HSB City Council last week states, “The collection rate for this year is down due to several large accounts being uncollected at this time.” The city’s budget is based on revenues of $4,900,000 from property taxes, which equates to a 97% collection rate of the $5,044,091 tot ...

Attorneys for HB Texas Development Partners, LP, owner of real estate in Skywater Over Horseshoe Bay, have “consented” to the bankruptcy filed by construction creditors of the project, according to Lynn Butler, the attorney representing the creditors in the bankruptcy case. HB Texas Development Partners, as the debtor, has filed a motion with the bankruptcy court asking that the proceeding be converted from a Chapter 7 liquidation to a Chapter 11 reorganization bankruptcy.

The Horseshoe Bay Women’s Golf Association hosted its annual Eclectic Tournament at Slick Rock Golf Course on March 17 and 18. Over 60 golfers participated in the fun format that lets golfers use their best score on each hole over two days of play to tally their best 18 hole total.

The first day of spring was celebrated with a luncheon at the home of Roger and Geneva Dalton. The guests were taught their first cooking lesson by Chef Julie Mills making Parmesan Cheese Baskets. The baskets were quite the challenge, but well worth it when filled with either Caesar salad or chicken salad. The presentation and yummy baskets made the task worthwhile.

On March 21st at approximately 10:30 p.m. officers from the Horseshoe Bay Police Department responded to a suspicious persons report indicating that there were several people going in and out of a residence in the 5500 block of FM 2147 and that the house was supposed to be unoccupied. As the police arrived at the house, one person saw the police car and ran back inside the house.
