
Horseshoe Bay Municipal Court Judge Kevin Madison (left) was presented the Outstanding Judge award by Judge Robin Smith, President of the Texas Municipal Courts Association, at the group’s annual meeting on June 12, 2009. The award is given each year to a jurist who demonstrates excellence in the administration of justice. Judge Madison, who also serves as the municipal judge for the Village of Briarcliff and the City of Lakeway, has developed a Teen Driving Contract, implemented a Report Unsafe Driving bumper sticker program for teens on probation, and started a community service clean up program for teens. He is on the faculty of the Texas Municipal Courts Education Center and is a frequent public speaker on topics such as the role of municipal courts, the use of radar, and the liability of first responders.
