Special Valentine Guests at the Church at Horseshoe Bay
Thursday, February 16, 2012 • Posted February 16, 2012

Several ladies, who are former HSB residents, were invited to a lovely Valentine lunch on February 14 at the Church at Horseshoe Bay. Karen Wines came up with the idea and HSB’s benevolent spirit followed through as other women volunteered to transport guests to and from the luncheon, decorate and cook the delicious meal. The church’s great hall was transformed into a valentine red backdrop and Mary Agnes Rudd played beautiful piano music during lunch.

The Wildflower Dance Troupe opened the show with a Charleston number and closed it with their rendition of “Personality.” Sharon Penny lent her beautiful voice to “The Rose” and a quartet including Jack Sargent, David Swageirt, Garry Kesler and Larry Sherwood sang “Let Me Call You Sweetheart” to the ladies. Pastor Johnny White caused riotous laughter with his impersonation of Willie Nelson as he, Garry and Michele Kesler and Karen Jarrard sang a clever medley of oldies that ranged from serious to hilarious. The guests were each given a red rose and expressed their delight in having such a heartfelt affair in their honor.
