Horseshoe Bay members of the Highland Lakes Service League, like Cheryl Rosson-Spann, second from left front, are delighted that their organization received the 2011 Community Service Award from the Marble Falls Chamber of Commerce Saturday evening, in festivities at the Marriott. Also pictured, are from left front, Midge Dockery, Peggy Jones (behind Rosson-Spann), Barbara Bluhm, Barbara Hoffman (behind Bluhm), Kay Herring (holding Award), Carolyn Davis, Kathy Kasparek, Linda Tyler, Kathy Savage and Nance Griffin. Pat Hatch, not pictured, and Davis were Service League presidents the first half of 2011 and Herring — a frequent contributor to The Beacon — is president for the 2011-12 service year.
