Letters to the EditorReaders are welcome to bring, mail, fax or e-mail the letter to our office. Limit 300 words. Letters must be signed and include the author's name, address, and phone number. Letters should address issues of general interest and not contain any form of slander. AnnouncementsHorseshoe Bay Beacon accepts birth, engagement, wedding, and anniversary announcements and places them as space allows. Bring or mail the copy to our office. There is no charge for the article and one photo. Photos may be picked up at our office after the article has run and are only held for six weeks after submission. Reproduction of a wedding invitation is considered an advertisement. Articles for PublicationBring or mail the copy of the article to our office. There is no charge for running articles and photos of news events, community events, club events, church events, etc. and will be run as space allows. Photos accepted with the article. PhotosWe're looking for all sorts of photos — people, events, wildlife, anything! Visiting another state or country? Great hunting or fishing photo? E-mail them to us and we'll run them as space allows. There is no charge. ObituariesObituaries are accepted from funeral homes. The funeral home in charge of the arrangements needs to handle the request. A personally written obituary or memorial from the family or friends is considered advertising. Community CalendarHorseshoe Bay Beacon accepts submissions for the weekly community calendar, as well as ongoing events in the community and area. E-mail the date of your event, as well as a short description, to be included in the issues of the newspaper leading up to the event. We also accept articles about your event and news from organizational meetings. Get your information to us early so we can let people know! |
